Who was Lizzy Musi?

Lizzy gained fame as she starred on Discovery Channel show The Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings.

Raised in North Carolina, she grew up around racetracks as the daughter of Pat Musi, a renowned engine builder and “doorslammer” – drag racing in full-body sedans.

Lizzy followed in her father’s footsteps and soared up the drag-racing ranks.

In 2014, she was the first woman to break the 200mph barrier in eighth-mile racing in a 3.802 second run.

Her achievements on the track made her an inspirational figure for budding female drivers.

Tragically, Lizzy lost her life on June 27.

Her dad Pat confirmed her passing in a Facebook statement.

He said: “Surrounded by her family, in the comfort of her own home, Lizzy was called to heaven at 11:25 pm tonight.

“Thank you for all the prayers and support throughout her battle.

“At this time, the family would like to have time to process, grief and make arrangements in peace.
