The Virgin River trailer may have shown too much. After all, fans are already speculating about the twists and turns of the series’ next season.
Netflix’s Virgin River started its 2019 run a little slowly. Painting, then, a picture of a quiet town in Northern California
without major plot twists. Ultimately, gradually immersing viewers in the welcoming atmosphere of the ideal community.
However, with each passing year, the stakes were raised higher and higher, with elements of crime entering the show and making it much more exciting than ever before.
And it looks like the next season is set to be Virgin River’s darkest chapter yet!
Trailer showed too much
Thanks to the recently released trailer, people realized that the writers are trying to raise the stakes significantly by putting many characters in grave danger. And while the sight of Brady with a bloody head scared fans the most, as they suspected the character could be killed off in future episodes, other predictions also have the fandom worried.
First, people are worried about a big fire coming to Virgin River. And the trailer suggests it might not be a natural accident. However, some fans are certain that Nick’s sister is responsible for setting the forest on fire for some twisted reason. And if that’s true, season 5 will certainly be the most exciting installment of the hit melodrama.
New novels
Furthermore, after seeing the trailer, most fans agree that Mel will finally leave her job at the clinic because of her complicated pregnancy. Even though viewers are heartbroken, it would be quite interesting to see Mel out of work for the first time during the series.
“I still have hope that Mel will continue to work at the clinic in some capacity. I love her and Doc’s working relationship, but it makes a lot of sense when she says she needs to prioritize her high-risk pregnancy. She would never forgive herself if something happened,” one fan noted.
And finally, it looks like John “Preacher” Middleton will have a new romantic interest. This is a huge development for the character, which also makes viewers happy because it means Paige will likely be out of the story for good.
Virgin River returns to Netflix on September 7th, and the second part will premiere on November 30th.
