Part of the town was consumed by fire, and during the evacuation, Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) loses her child. Tragedy falls on her and Jack (Martin Henderson) like a bolt from the blue – why was such a storyline decided?

Virgin River season 5 – why did Mel lose her child?

Mel and her late husband lost their child, so when it turned out in season 4 that the heroine and Jack were expecting a child, many fans kept their fingers crossed for a happy resolution to the storyline and could not imagine any other option. Unfortunately – it turned out differently. Alexandra Breckenridge believes that this twist is sad, but at the same time necessary.

One of Mel’s biggest dreams is to start a family – but the heroine is terrified that the situation will repeat itself a third time. Will she and Jack (Martin Henderson) survive this difficult time?

Martin Henderson emphasized later in the statement that Jack also dreams of a family and he and Mel will certainly think together about what to do about it.

Will Mel and Jack try for a child after the tragedy that befell them? Or maybe they will decide to adopt? We will only get the answers to these questions.
