Gladiators is definitely returning to the BBC for a second series

after the reboot was hailed as a surprise success.

The BBC today confirmed in a statement that the new version of the

athletic challenge contest which sees members of the public take on

New Gladiators like Sabre, Diamond and Fury have proven hugely popular but the BBC has stopped short of confirming the future of hosts Bradley Walsh and his son Barney Walsh as hosts.

The show, filmed at Sheffield Arena, has been a huge success, with 10 million viewers for its first episode and subsequent episodes even beat Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on Saturday nights.

But there had been some criticism from some fans about a few aspects, notably the changing room segments and Bradley and Barney Walsh’s hosting duties, as well as their permanent red and blue suits in every episode.
