THE shock truth about EastEnders newcomer Maya Hussain is revealed – and Harvey Monroe is in danger.

The mysterious Maya made her first appearance on the BBC soap at the end of last month.

She immediately befriended Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman), bonding over their shared love for Tottenham Hotspur.

However, EastEnders fans have been suspicious of her and her motives from the start, and they will soon find out more about what she’s really up to.

In upcoming scenes, Harvey and partner Jean Slater are set for a romantic evening when Maya messages him.

Making an excuse, Harvey meets Maya, who reveals she’s selling her home to pay her debts.

Freddie sees them and tells Jean, who fears he’s cheating.

After Maya leaves, Harvey realises she’s dropped a letter addressed to her and sees the address isn’t the area of London where she told him she lived.

Harvey knocks but when he hears a crash, he rushes in and comes face-to-face with a distressed man.

Who is he? And what does Harvey have to do with the couple?

Later in the week, Jean thinks Harvey is about to confess that he’s cheated on her with Maya when he stuns her with the truth.

After taking a moment to process the information, Jean tries to convince Harvey that what he plans to do is wrong for all concerned, but will he listen?

Earlier this month, the mysterious new addition told Harvey she had a husband, who was also a taxi driver, who passed away in 2023.

This led to the widow deleting her social media profiles, something Harvey had realised when trying to contact her.

Maya explained being a widow had made her more vulnerable to scammers.

Sleuthing viewers, however, have shared their suspicions of the character, suspecting she’s up to no good.

A fan theory suggests she may have specifically targeted Harvey, with a possible reasoning being due to a connection with his son, Aaron (Charlie Wernham), who was last seen two years ago.

The younger Monroe featured in the show from 2021 to 2022.

During his stint in Walford, Aaron was revealed to be the leader of a far-right group and held racist views.
