Coronation Street is set for explosive scenes next week with the cobbles set to be rocked over a Lauren Bolton twist.
Only recently, Joel Deering was revealed to be Lauren Bolton’s ‘killer’ in a huge twist. Roy Cropper had initially been wrongly arrested, charged and the number one suspect for the supposed murder of missing teenager Lauren. However, DS Lisa Swain and newcomer Kit thought they had cracked the case as they arrested abuser Nathan Curtis, who previously made Bethany Platt’s life a living misery and was recently released from prison. However, what they don’t realise is that the real culprit, Joel, is still at large.
Yet it appears Joel could face his comeuppance next week as a huge Lauren twist and update is revealed. On Monday night, Roy was rushed to hospital, where he received a surprise visitor which leaves his loved ones concerned he’s hallucinating. In spoilers for next week, Dee-Dee and Nina are shocked when the nurse confirms that Roy’s visitor was a young girl with blonde hair. Talking to Bethany and Joel, Dee-Dee reveals that the police are checking the CCTV to see if it was Lauren
Meanwhile, Roy is delighted to think that Lauren appears to be alive but Nina is furious that she left it this long to return and clear his name and now has disappeared again. However, there’s more twists ahead as Bethany realises that in the sighting of Lauren, she is wearing the same coat that they saw on the girl in the CCTV from the pizza joint in Leicester and that she was clearly the person fraudulently using her old company credit card.
Later in the week, Joel is left panicked over the Lauren update as he rushes and books his wedding to Dee-Dee, revealing their date as September 27. Joel then goes through credit card statements with Bethany to find clues of Lauren’s whereabouts. Yet there’s more trouble ahead as Betsy continues to blackmail him and demands more money.
While Joel is out secretly dealing with Betsy, Dee-Dee and Bethany continue to go through the statements, where they find ticket transactions in Warrington and decide to check soup kitchens where a homeless woman confirms that Lauren is squatting in a local pub. Dee-Dee calls Joel to let him know before setting off with Bethany. Will Joel make it to Lauren before Bethany and Dee-Dee or will he be exposed?
Later in the week, in more bad news for Joel, Lauren appears to return to the cobbles where she heads to apologise to Roy and then the Rovers, where Bobby offers her his
