Coronation Street fans fear that Ken Barlow could be set to ‘lose everything’ as they are convinced that carer Cassie Plummer is conning him

Coronation Street fans are worried that Ken Barlow, played by the iconic William Roache, could be swindled out of his money in a devastating twist.

The character recently suffered a fall and has since been under the care of Cassie Plummer, played by Claire Sweeney, who was brought into the Barlow household to look after the Weatherfield legend.

Initially, Cassie’s attentions seemed nothing but genuine, but viewers have grown suspicious, particularly after Ken disclosed his £50K premium bond win to her.

In a recent episode on Monday, Steve McDonald, Ken’s son-in-law, voiced his concerns about Cassie’s intentions when he discovered she planned to take Ken on a luxury spa trip, questioning if she was exploiting him for a ‘free holiday’ and might abandon him at the hotel

However, Cassie defended herself, insisting that carers are often overlooked and that she values Ken’s company. Fans took to Twitter, now X, to express their worry.

One viewer said: “Cassie’s gonna rob Ken blind. Fact”, a different account put: “Cassie is loving spending Ken’s money, she’s not even ashamed…” (sic), another wrote: “YES STEVE – Cassie is taking advantage of ‘Kenny’ She is after his £50k premium bond win!” (sic) while a different fan added: “Cassie’s fleecing of Ken has begun. #corrie.” (sic), reports the Liverpool Echo.

In another twist on Monday’s episode, Kate Ford appeared to bid farewell to her character Tracy Barlow on Coronation Street again, following her recent comeback.

Tracy returned to Weatherfield after a row with lover Tommy Orpington, who she moved to Spain to be with earlier this year and had an affair with, leaving husband Steve crushed.

Upon leaving the cobbles once again, Tracy had some advice for her ex as she pointed out it was obvious that Cassie fancies him, suggesting that the two go on a date and see where it goes.

However, with fans predicting Cassie could be conning Ken, will Steve be heartbroken once again?
