Helen Flanagan ’emotionally drained’ as she confirms ‘difficult relationship’ with ex

Former Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan opened up on her ‘difficult’ relationship with ex-fiance Scott Sinclair.

The Rosie Webster actress, 33, and her footballer beau reportedly went their separate ways following

the mum-of-three’s stint on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity All Stars in South Africa.

She was then pictured without her engagement ring while walking the Pride of Britain Awards red carpet in October 2022.

In an Instagram post shared on Wednesday (June 18), Helen uploaded a video of her eldest daughter, Matilda, at a Beauty and The Beast themed afternoon tea.

While she didn’t mention her ex by name, she hinted it has been a struggle co-parenting her three children with him.

She penned: ‘I felt really emotional that day, a lot of personal things going on and it can be extremely emotionally draining co-parenting when you have a difficult relationship.’

Helen admitted that she felt ‘bad mum guilt’ as she is usually up and down from London for work purposes and wanted her daughter to ‘feel loved.’

Earlier this year, Helen shared an update in her life on Instagram where she spoke candidly about the serious mental health issue she was experiencing.

In a lengthy post, she admitted she believes part of the reason for her psychosis diagnosis is the ’emotional struggle’ after her split from Scott.

Writing in her first Instagram post in months, she said she ‘struggled mental health wise’ over Christmas and ’didn’t feel that much different when I took the kid away for new years.’

She had been due to kick off a theatre tour and said when she returned from the trip and still felt like she was struggling, she decided to take medication to ‘cope better with being a working single mum of three and I was emotionally struggling with the break up from the father of my kids.’

Helen, who has previously been diagnosed with ADHD and Bipolar disorder, said she had a ‘really bad reaction’ to the ADHD medication she took ‘and it sent me into a psychosis for a few days which I didn’t know I was in.’

Psychosis is a serious mental issue which can involve hallucinations and delusions, but affects everyone differently.

Helen said she was ‘heartbroken’ that she was not mentally well enough to begin rehearsals for her theatre tour as ‘I’ve always been professional as an actress but I needed to stay at home and feel better for me and my kids with the help of my amazing parents.’

‘Therapy can be amazing and I feel like I’ve worked on myself with things that were quite tough to me but I feel lighter now. Anyway sending love and please be kind.’
