Summer Spellman’s (Harriet Bibby) hopes of a new romance have been quickly destroyed in Coronation Street as boyfriend Felix headed back to the USA.
Summer has been away from Weatherfield over the past few months getting settled into life at a university in Boston, America.
Shortly after Summer was offered this placement, she felt apprehensive about leaving and wanted to stay and care for Paul (Peter Ash), who has motor neurone disease.
Sitting down for a chat, Paul and Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) told Summer that she should accept the uni placement and live her life, because Paul would be well-looked after by other members of his family while she’s away.
Feeling reassured, Summer waved her goodbyes to the cobbles but now, she’s back home.
Last week we saw Summer and new boyfriend Felix – who is played by Hollywood star Robin Morrissey – arrive at the flat.
Things suddenly turned very awkward and the atmosphere frosty as he relished in the fact Paul’s motor neurone disease was a condition he’d studied whilst at university.
Paul and Billy were also alarmed by the age gap between the two and his boasts about being a neuroscientist.
Later, Felix overheard Paul playing a derogatory message about Felix on his Eyegaze device.
As Billy and Todd (Gareth Pierce) desperately looked for the mute button, Felix heads out and leaves Summer mortified.
During Wednesday’s episode we learnt that he had left for America, and Summer wondered whether she could cope in a long distance relationship.
But is this really the end of Summer’s relationship with Felix?
Or could he return?
