EastEnders Stars Brian May’s wife Anita Dobson shares health update after Queen icon suffered stroke

Queen legend Brian May is making a good recovery after suffering a minor stroke a few weeks ago, and his wife Anita Dobson is ‘completely confident’ he will make a full recovery

Anita Dobson, wife of Sir Brian May, has expressed her unwavering belief that the Queen guitarist will “make a full recovery” following his stroke.

The rock icon was told to take it easy after being rushed to hospital due to a minor stroke a few weeks back. Despite finding it challenging to slow down, he understands the importance of rest for his recovery.

In a chat with The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre column, Anita shared: “He’s been told to rest. It’s hard to keep him resting, but he needs to, otherwise he won’t get well.”

“He’s doing great he’s on the road, he’s doing really, really well. We’re very pleased. I’m completely confident he’ll make a full recovery.”

“You have to take things slowly, chill a bit. He’s not that kind of animal!”. Brian even managed to inject some humour into the situation, quipping about his “very exciting” rush to the hospital.

Anita, the former ‘ EastEnders ‘ star, now 75, remarked: “It’s good to keep a sense of humour.” The 77 year old guitar legend also mentioned how the “little health hiccup” left him unable to “control” his arm, yet he reassured fans that he was fine and thankful that he could still play his guitar.

The ‘We Will Rock You’ legend took to Instagram to update his followers, saying: “I hope you’re all well out there. I’m here to bring you first of all some good news. I think the good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days and I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned happened about a week ago and what they called it was a minor stroke and all of a sudden – out of the blue – I didn’t have any control over this arm so was a little scary.”

He also heaped praise on the medical team at Frimley Hospital in Camberley, Surrey, for their excellent care: “I have to say I had the most fantastic care and attention from Frimley Hospital where I went blue lights flashing… the lot. Very exciting!”.
