EastEnders Mitchell exit confirmed as Billy makes heartbreaking discovery about his mum

As the Mitchells all get to know each other following the new arrivals, their joy is short lived when Stevie drops a bombshell that leaves Billy devastated.

Following Teddy, Harry, and Barney’s recent arrival in Walford the Mitchells all get together for a celebration in next week’s EastEnders but a bombshell drives the family apart.

The week kicks-off with the Mitchells coming together when Billy decides to throw a surprise party for Stevie in The Vic and explains to his son Will that Stevie and his long-lost mum, Val, shared the same birthday.

The stall-holder also confesses that he doesn’t know where his mum is or where she is living. But over at the cafe, Teddy meets Stevie to give him a card and warns him to stop lying.

After overhearing them talking about keeping something from Billy, Phil is intrigued and gets his trusted lawyer Ritchie to do some digging.

While in the boozer, Stevie is overjoyed to see the effort Billy and Will have gone to which sparks Billy to give a speech about his dad, and wishes his mum well – wherever she is.

But Phil soon arrives and takes Stevie aside to show the evidence Ritchie has dug up on him.

Once back at No.18, Stevie confesses to Billy that his mum is dead while Teddy looks on. Stevie shares the tragic story of Val’s death with his reeling sons Billy and Teddy before making a huge decision.

The news sends shockwaves through Billy and feeling a broken man he confides in his cousin Phil who tells him to wise up to who Stevie really is. Later, Teddy urges Billy not to let this revelation rob them of their relationship.

But during a chat, Will misunderstands what Billy is saying and soon reveals that Phil framed Stevie. Billy rages at Phil for trying to wreck his new family.

Stevie implores Billy and Teddy to hear him out and apologises for everything he’s done before planning to leave Walford. Following one more confrontation with his nephew Phil, Stevie asks Big Mo to do him a favour.

Phil is furious to discover his car is missing and calls the police as Stevie asks Billy if he can say goodbye to his grandchildren.

Later, Billy and Teddy arrange a family dinner at Walford East but don’t invite Phil until Jay asks him to join them.

Teddy tries to smooth things over between the family as Phil takes a seat but a showdown between the men soon ensues. Phil continues to drive a wedge between himself and everyone close to him.
