EastEnders’ Letitia Dean’s four-word response as she opens up on soap future

Fan favourite Letitia Dean shared her views about her on-screen future, “it’s far from over” aired the actress as she revealed what was in store for her alter-ego Sharon

Letitia Dean has said “it’s far from over” as she talks about the future of her character Sharon Watts.

The actress, who received an Outstanding Achievement soap award in 2022, has featured on Eastenders since 1985 and taken regular career breaks along the way. Given Letitia has stepped away from her career in the past, on a few occasions, it’s no wonder the rumour mill is churning up that she could be about to take some time out again.

Something appears to be bubbling away in Soapland, especially with a storyline heavily involving Letitia’s alter-ego, Sharon. Last Christmas, BBC viewers were left on the edge of their seats, wanting to know who killed Keanu Taylor, with six Albert Square women each playing a part and being in the frame.

Stacey (Lacey Turner), Suki (Balvinder Sopal), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon (Letitia Dean), Denise (Diane Parish) and Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) – have all been under extreme pressure in recent episodes as they battle to keep the truth about Keanu’s death under wraps.

It was Linda who dealt the crushing blow last Christmas as she thrashed Sharon’s groom-to-be with a meat thermometer after she’d heard him attacking his wife-to-be. But now, Dean Wick is standing trial for Keanu’s murder and is desperate to prove his innocence and will stop at nothing.

Somehow along the way, the six ladies ended up involved with burying the body under the cafè floor where it was later discovered by Alfie Moon and the police alerted. With inspectors now fishing around to find out what happened, the six-some came up with a plan to blame rapist Dean Wicks for the crime.

Linda lied to the police, telling them that she saw Dean dragging what could have been a body into the cafe on that fateful night. But a new clip of them all in court shows Linda fleeing the trial, throwing a spanner into the works for them all.

Sharon is due to take to the stand and is terrified of her fate, as the day draws closer, she is faced with what will happen to her daughter if she is sent to jail. With the prospect of prison on the horizon, it’s really no wonder fans are wondering about her future on the show.

In an interview with BBC about recent ongoings, Letitia opened up on what lies ahead for
