EastEnders fans are convinced that the BBC One soap has foreshadowed the extent of Tommy Moon’s (Sonny Kendall) abuse on mum Kat Mitchell (Jessie Wallace).
His troubling behaviour began following his mum’s divorce from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), and he was determined not to move into the busy Slater house.
In more recent weeks we’ve seen his behaviour worsen when Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) caught him shoplifting from the Minute Mart, and later he began skipping school to spend more time with Phil.
When adoptive father Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) questioned his behaviour, he cited that he saw Phil as a real man and a better influence.
Tommy then went on to give Phil false hope of a reconciliation with Kat and when she scorned him, he lashed out at his mum and punched her in the stomach.
In retaliation, she pushed him to the floor and he called the police to report her for abuse.
The incidents are part of a wider child-to-parent abuse storyline that will be explored over the next few months.
Earlier this week, Alfie felt like he’d had a breakthrough with the teen after telling him about Little Mo’s (Kacey Ainsworth) abuse at the hands of Trevor Morgan (Alex Ferns).
