EastEnders viewers think they have worked out who will be next to return to the BBC soap.
Viewers are predicting another huge comeback following the news that David Wicks is heading back to Walford. Just this week we saw Jane Beale return to the show following a series of comebacks in the past year including Cindy Beale, Bianca Jackson, Dean Wicks and Yolande Trueman.
Now, viewers think another huge character will head back to Albert Square when Michael French reprises his role as David. Viewers are calling for David’s ex Carol Jackson to be brought back on the show, with her not being onscreen for 10 years.
Taking to X, fans called on bosses to bring back actress Lindsay Coulson, as some wondered if she would be involved in David’s return storyline. One viewer posted: “Okay now SURELY you have to bring Carol back.”
Another viewer agreed: “With the legendary Carol Jackson beside him, I hope?” as a third fan wrote: “Please bring back Lindsay Coulson.” The comments kept on coming with one more reading: “Carol Jackson now please,” while a further comment read: “We want Carol too.”
Meanwhile, teasing his big comeback David actor Michael spilled: “I feel honoured to be asked to reprise the role of David Wicks once again. It may only be a brief visit, but we know from his past that David never fails to create a lot of drama in a very short time.”
Soap boss Chris Clenshaw revealed: “David Wicks is undoubtedly one of EastEnders’ most beloved rogues, and we are thrilled to welcome the talented Michael French back to the legendary role as we lead up to the show’s 40th anniversary. David’s character was never shy of drama during his previous stints, and I can assure you this return will be no different.”
Viewers will have to stay tuned to find out more about the return, and when it will air. David was last onscreen when his plans to marry Carol fell apart, and the pair went their separate ways in 2014.
