EastEnders fans distracted by scene-stealing extra with over the top performance opposite Phil Mitchell

The guest actor appeared in tonight’s episode as he confronted Phil Mitchell about his threatening his son for blackmailing Will Mitchell over an intimate picture.

“Phil Mitchell,” the man grandly announced after walking into Phil’s living room. “I understand you’ve been harassing my son.”

The man then walked around Phil’s room while delivering his lines and revealing that he is Will’s blackmailer Kyle’s dad.

“My son is very astute, as am I,” he continued in a way not unlike Margaret Lockwood in The Wicked Lady.

“He told me you’d threatened him over some disagreement with a school friend, Will. His phone took the brunt of it but still…”

Then ramping up his performance with a series of gestures, he added: “Mr Mitchell, I’m a solicitor.

“I’ve dealt with a multitude of intimidating characters. I deal with mistruths and deception on a daily basis, are you sure you want to go down this route?”

Phil, somehow managing to keep a straight face, warned him off.

But fans couldn’t focus on anything but his over the top performance.

One wrote: “WHO IS THIS GUY IN PHIL’S LIVING ROOM DOING A JUDGE RINDER IMPRESSION!?”

I’ve missed that!’ say EastEnders fans as Phil Mitchell goes on angry rampage – before three newcomers arrive in Walford

A second said: “I RAN here to scream-laugh at the solicitor because what was that??

“Funniest performance I’ve seen in years and I think I’m going to have to stan now.

“The actor was definitely thinking ‘I’m not throwing away my shot’ because he was doing a lot but also nothing.”

Another added: “That solicitor putting a LOT into his little guest role.”
