EastEnders’ Bernadette Taylor could be about to target someone else in her bid to expose brother Keanu’s killer, days on from her ‘nearly killing’ Linda Carter

EastEnders’ Bernadette Taylor appeared to eye up a new target to destroy in the latest episode of the BBC soap.

Days on from her “nearly killing” Linda Carter, who she believed knew something about her brother Keanu Taylor’s murder, Bernie appeared to change tactics. Viewers know that Linda killed Keanu on Christmas Day as she saved Sharon from a brutal attack by her partner.

Dean Wicks has been framed for the crime with Linda providing a police statement that placed Dean near the scene where his body was found. Dean knows he’s innocent and suspects Linda set him up, so he agreed to help Bernie find out the truth regarding Keanu’s killer.

Bernie targeted Linda with blackmail letters to get her to confess but after her testimony was rejected, due to Linda being drunk, Dean realised she would not be able to take the stand. He then ditched Bernie and their plan, leading to Bernie getting Linda drunk in the hope of getting a confession.

Bernadette was shown refilling Linda’s glass every time she drank, and as Linda continued to hit the bottle she ended up almost dying. She was found choking on her own vomit and was rushed to hospital, with Bernie since coming under fire for her actions.

Sharon realised Bernie could be onto her and those involved in Keanu’s murder cover-up, and decided to try and keep an eye on her. She knew Bernie was about to be homeless and offered to pay some of the rent on a new flat for her.

Trying to keep her sweet but also keep tabs on her, Sharon said it was the least she could do with it clear she felt guilty. But what she didn’t seem to realise was that Bernie was onto her, with her soon accepting the offer.

Bernie was shown smirking as Sharon walked away, clearly plotting something. Viewers pointed out the move only made Sharon look more guilty, with them convinced Bernie now believed she was involved in Keanu’s death.

So is Bernie targeting Sharon now, and has Sharon allowed her to do that? Taking to X, one fan posted: “Oh Sharon, unknowingly making Bernie even more convinced she actually killed Keanu & not Dean.”
