EastEnders’ Ian Beale has been acting dodgy in recent episodes, and his family are set to learn what he’s been hiding – but will it tear them apart?

EastEnders’ stalwart Ian Beale, played by Adam Woodyatt, has been acting rather mysteriously in recent episodes, with his big secret soon to be unveiled.

The Walford entrepreneur has been raising eyebrows this week with his peculiar behaviour, leading Cindy (played by Michelle Collins) and their son Peter (Thomas Law) to suspect that Ian is concealing something.

In an attempt to deflect any queries, Ian informs his family of his plans to run for council again, but they remain sceptical of his explanation.

Ian departs for a supposed council meeting, but Peter remains unconvinced and decides to investigate. After reaching out to the council, Peter uncovers that his father has been dishonest and demands the truth.

Ian’s enigmatic conduct continues into next week’s episodes of the BBC soap when he plans to depart the Square for a purported leadership training course in Manchester, reports the Daily Star.

He informs Cindy that she cannot accompany him, which only heightens her concerns. Curiosity piqued, Cindy sneaks a peek into Ian’s suitcase, wondering what her partner is hiding.

Believing that Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) is aiding Ian, Cindy voices her concerns to her and grills her for information.

Kathy retorts with some advice, prompting Cindy to confront Ian directly, questioning whether he is involved in an affair, a claim he vehemently denies.

However, Cindy later stumbles upon another revelation that sends her suspicions spiralling, leading her to ask George Knight (Colin Salmon) to drive her to an unknown address.

Peter later discovers Cindy’s location and, in a bid to uncover the truth, he borrows Martin Fowler’s (James Bye) van and tails them.

Intrigued, Bobby Beale (Clay Milner-Russell) also wants to know more, and when Peter refuses to keep him informed about their father’s situation, he secretly hops into the back of the van.

While it remains a mystery what Cindy and George will discover at this address, Peter and Bobby show up just as they are confronting Ian, escalating the tension.

Back home, an exhausted Cindy struggles to sleep, overwhelmed by the recent events. Eventually, she decides to confront Ian, but is taken aback by another revelation from her partner.

Distressed by their conversation, Cindy seeks solace at The Vic with a drink, where she finds comfort in Peter. But what secret is Ian keeping?
