Amy Mitchell’s (Ellie Dadd) life hung in the balance in the latest episode of EastEnders, as the fallout from the club crush brought anguish for a guilty Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams).
Many Walford residents were caught up in the drama at Peggy’s earlier in the week, when overcrowding at the nightspot led to a dangerous situation.
Chelsea had inadvertently caused the crush, after putting more tickets on sale online for a sold-out club night in a bid to spite rival Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine), who recently stole her job as club manager.
Amy was one of the casualties of the incident, and was rushed to hospital in Wednesday’s episode of the BBC soap, where doctors told her worried family she’d suffered a cardiac arrest as a result of her panic.
As well as suffering a broken pelvis, the teenager had been placed in a coma to help her recovery, much to father Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) horror.
As he pointed fingers at both Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) and Penny over Amy’s injuries, Chelsea was wracked with guilt.
She faced further anguish when police turned up at the hospital asking questions. Despite fending off their initial queries, she was told she would have to be interviewed more formally down the line.
Later on, Penny sought to put their feud behind them as she accepted responsibility for what had happened.
However, they were both rocked when police then appeared and revealed they had found evidence on the club computer that extra tickets were illegally put on sale using Penny’s log-in, and she would be questioned under caution.
Will Chelsea’s role in the crush come to light?
