Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that more details are coming to light about a new character who’ll make his debut soon. It’s always exciting when a fresh face comes to Salem, so let’s talk about Al Calderon’s first appearance happening this fall.

DOOL teased the addition of this character on social media back in April, but now we have confirmation that Calderon will be playing Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Cherie Jimenez) cousin.

Although Days hasn’t officially released Al Calderon’s character name yet, there have been some behind-the-scenes hints that suggest he’s playing “Javi.”

It seems safe to go ahead and call Calderon’s character “Javi” at this point.

With that in mind, we should consider what the future holds for Javi once he comes to town.

Days spoilers say Javi will shake things up for Gabi and Rafe, so fans will be curious to see what kind of relationship they have with him.

It’s not like Rafe and Gabi have ever mentioned Javi, so will DOOL pretend they’re all close anyway or could there be some initial awkwardness?

Could Javi have some ulterior motives when it comes to reconnecting with his cousins?

Javi might make a splash at Body and Soul as well if he’s connected to the soap opera’s reboot.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s plenty of buzz about Javi being a new love interest for Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart).

Leo has struggled to find love again in the aftermath of Dimitri von Leuscher (Peter Porte) leaving him for another man.

That was a tough heartbreak for Leo, but he seems poised to find a spark with Javi and see the potential for a happy path forward.

Of course, it’s possible Javi could have a connection to Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson), too.

There’s a good chance Mark is into men despite all the confusion with Leo.

Mark said he was talking to his girlfriend on the phone, but it seems likely he was lying about a conversation with his sister (AnnaLynne McCord), who’s now posing as Abigail DiMera.

Leo insisted his “gaydar” is rarely wrong, so Mark may actually be gay or bisexual. That could open the door to Javi being Mark’s boyfriend or at least a hookup partner.

Regardless, our Days predictions point to Leo and Javi’s love story playing out down the road, so Leo should end up thrilled that Gabi and Rafe’s cousin came to Salem.
