Things are looking up for Gabi once again on Days of Our Lives. Yes, she just blew up her marriage to Stefan, but she’s gained a potential sidepiece in EJ. And big brother Rafe is finally out of the danger zone and out of his coma, which means Gabi won’t have to say goodbye to another beloved family member!

In real life, though, Cherie Jimenez just marked the sad anniversary of losing a beloved member of her family, albeit of the four-legged persuasion. Her dog, Simba, “crossed the rainbow bridge” two years ago and, as she wrote on Instagram, “I miss you everyday.”

She went on to write, “Thank you for coming to visit me from time to time… I’ll be seeing you in every rainbow and blue butterfly. I love you forever Simba.”

Check out adorable Simba below, as an adorably tiny puppy, a handsome fella in a bandana and, as Jimenez so poetically put it, in a rainbow, through the trees.

It wasn’t all sad news, though, as a little more than a week earlier, Jimenez celebrated her seventh anniversary with her husband on Instagram, writing, “Every day I live in gratitude for the incredible love we share. Seven years of Growth. Love. Healing. Adventure and Family. Happy Anniversary to my best friend, Sean Faris. Te amo Mí amor.”

And onscreen, things are certainly looking up for Jimenez as the Hernandez family is set to expand this fall — of course, that’s if Gabi survives Connie’s explosive endgame! But somehow, we have a feeling things are going to work out for her… Even if they don’t for her marriage to Stefan.
