Days of Our Lives Linsey Godfrey Real-Life Accident Trauma – The Current Story That’s Causing Her Distress

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that Linsey Godfrey (Sarah Kiriakis and ex-Caroline Spencer on The Bold and the Beautiful) is doing a fantastic job portraying Sarah’s complex emotions. In the aftermath of the hit-and-run accident, Sarah is trying to adjust to her new normal and stay positive about the future.

However, it’s been tough for Sarah since she’s been through such a life-changing nightmare.

It turns out this Days story has been tough for Linsey Godfrey as well since it’s stirring up a lot of past trauma.

In an interview with Daily Drama, Godfrey reflected on going through an accident similar to Sarah’s back in 2015.

Since it was huge soap news at the time, you may remember that Godfrey was hit by a car while strolling down the sidewalk.

Godfrey thankfully wasn’t paralyzed like Sarah, but she still broke both her legs and had a lengthy recovery process.

That was a difficult time in Godfrey’s life that she’s been forced to relive in some ways through Sarah’s ordeal.

When Godfrey first got updates on this storyline, she went on a bit an emotional rollercoaster – starting with concerns about being written out.

Godfrey confessed to feeling “sheer panic” since she initially assumed DOOL was giving her the boot.

Once Godfrey calmed down and realized she was sticking around at Days, she still struggled to play a story that brought such painful reminders.

Days of Our Lives: Linsey Godfrey Is Finally Returning as Sarah Horton. Does Xander Rescue Her?

“My daughter was seven months old when I got run over by a car and had both my legs broken,” Godfrey said. “So, this story is very close to home since Sarah also has a young baby.”

Godfrey admitted it was triggering to spend time in a wheelchair again and that they had to nix the neck brace they wanted to put on her due to her PTSD.

Fortunately, Linsey Godfrey got plenty of support from Days’ directors, producers, cast and other crew members.

Everyone has been really understanding and a therapist was even offered along the way, so Godfrey praised all the people behind the scenes.

Days of Our Lives spoilers say a miracle cure will become part of the story down the road, so we’ll bring you predictions on how far Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) will go to help Sarah.
