David Wicks twist, character returns and Kat’s horror

EastEnders fans can expect all kinds of drama on the BBC soap next week starting from Monday, with an icon’s comeback, another return and trouble with Tommy Moon

EastEnders is lining up some big scenes ahead on the BBC soap, with plenty of chaos and even some nostalgia.

The return of David Wicks causes all kinds of reactions as the soap icon heads back to Walford to see daughter Bianca Jackson. But a twist sees him reunite with former flame Cindy Beale 20 years after they last saw each other.

Another return sees a Walford favourite head back to Albert Square after a brief break recently, with them learning of some shocking news. But as she continues to hide something from her loved ones will the truth come out?

Elsewhere, and teen Tommy Moon is causing trouble again sparking horror for his mum Kat Slater. After he turned violent with her recently, Tommy is caught stealing next week leading to another showdown with Kat. Here’s the biggest moments coming up next week…

Two icons collide amid an epic return, resulting in quite the bombshell. David Wicks (Michael French) makes his big return to the BBC soap next week amid his daughter Bianca Jackson’s (Patsy Palmer) turmoil.

But what he isn’t expecting and clearly hasn’t been told about is the fact ‘dead’ Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) is very much alive and back in Walford. After more than 20 years away, Michelle Collins reprised her role last year with Cindy revealed to have been alive all along.

As far as her ex flame David was concerned, Cindy had died in prison back in the 90s. While all of Walford found out last year, it seems not everyone got the memo.

Next week David and Cindy come face-to-face with him discovering she had never died. He has loads of questions for her, understandably, as they speak for the first time in two decades.

Kat’s horror

Next week, Kat tells the boys that Alfie (Shane Richie) has secured a job at the Minute Mart but money woes are still at the forefront of her mind. Knowing that the Moon family finances aren’t boding well, a misguided Tommy hatches a plan to steal from the café but his unwise efforts are thwarted by Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), who catches him red-handed.

Kathy confronts Kat and urges her to have a stern word with him. But when Kat later tries to talk to her son, things go south and he physically intimidates her. When celebrations for Jay Brown’s (Jamie Borthwick) 30th birthday begin, Kat and Phil (Steve McFadden) are treated to a video message from Lola Pearce, who succumbed to a terminal brain tumour last year and Tommy ruins the mood.

Tensions are sparked once again when Kat asks him to stop making a racket and Phil is stunned to hear Tommy being viciously rude in response. Kat then tries to talk to her son about trying to steal from the café and he tries to leave, prompting her to grab him. But how will it end and can they move past the row?

A return

Denise Fox (Diane Parish) returns to Walford, shocked by the news of Pastor Clayton’s death. During a heart-to-heart, Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) talks to Denise about the importance of honesty and truth, triggering guilty Denise into opening up in a vague way about her lies over the club crush.

Yolande’s words weigh heavy on Denise’s mind and in a shocking move, she steels herself to tell Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) the truth about her daughter Chelsea’s involvement in the club crush – but will she really go through with it?
