Coronation Street’s Lauren Bolton made a dramatic return – but fans were left feeling uncomfortable over one moment involving the troubled youngster.

Coronation Street fans were not too impressed over a certain scene involving Lauren Bolton. This week, saw the return of troubled youngster Lauren (Cait Fitton) – after months of being missing, and presumed dead. Fans will recall she vanished from the famous cobbles after losing her job at Roy’s Rolls.

However, it wasn’t until last month that viewers discovered that sleazy solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) was behind the teen’s disappearance. And this week it was revealed that Lauren is actually alive – and has been in hiding.

After showing up at Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) bedside at the hospital, following his heart attack earlier in the day, she attempted to make a swift exit from the hospital.

However, she was grabbed by her attacker Joel, and pushed into a family room. A series of flashbacks throughout the episode showed viewers the truth behind Lauren’s disappearance and her relationship with Joel.

The nasty solicitor wormed his way into Lauren’s life after helping her out with bills, eventually coercing her into a sexual relationship.

Viewers also found out what exactly happened on the day she went missing. Before Joel showed up at her flat, Lauren was seen in her kitchen listening to the radio while making a bacon sandwich.

However, fans couldn’t help but squirm over an uncomfortable moment – as viewers pointed out the excessive amount of tomato ketchup Lauren used for her bacon butty.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one person fumed: “The most horrific point so far tonight, that amount of sauce on that bacon.”

A second added: “Want a sandwich with that ketchup by the looks of it that sandwich would’ve killed her if Joel hadn’t tried.”

A third proclaimed: “Most controversial moment on Corrie by far, have never seen anyone put that much ketchup on a bacon butty.”

While on a Reddit thread, another viewer penned: “Omfg hahaha I was watching it too like why that much ketchup crazy.”
