Corrie ‘confirms’ Hope’s controversial new storyline on soap – but she’s not pregnant

Coronation Street fans are convinced Hope Dobbs is set for a new and ‘controversial’ storyline on the popular ITV soap, after she was seen using vapes in recent scenes

Coronation Street seems to have confirmed a contentious new plot for Hope Dobbs.

Hope, played by Isabella Flanagan, first graced the soap in 2010 as a premature baby, born three months early after her mother Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) was caught up in a terrifying tram crash. Thankfully, both Fiz and Hope pulled through.

Her inaugural year was marred by sorrow when her biological father John Stape (Graeme Hawley) passed away before she reached her first birthday. Since then, she has been raised by her mother and stepfather Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall).

Over time, Hope has been involved in several major storylines on the cobbles – from battling cancer to committing arson. However, it appears that another dramatic twist is on the horizon for Hope in the soap.

Last month, she dropped a massive revelation on her parents. Hope sought advice from Dr Gadass about going on the pill, who gave her condoms and encouraged Hope to discuss it with her family – which she did, much to their astonishment, reports the Liverpool Echo.

And this week, Hope is discovered vaping at school by her friends. Moreover, spoilers for the upcoming week suggest that Hope finds herself in deeper trouble as her clandestine vaping habit comes to light. After Cassie (Claire Sweeney) discovers a vape in Hope’s school bag, she confronts her granddaughter and Hope pleads with her to keep it a secret.

However, hoping to gain trust in the future, Cassie spills the beans to Tyrone and Fiz about Hope’s vaping antics. The pair then read the riot act to Hope, insisting she quit puffing on vapes. But the defiance is strong with this one – Hope nicks more vapes from Dev’s shop whilst Aadi (Adam Hussain) is none the wiser.

Now, Corrie watchers are buzzing with predictions of a shocking hospital dash twist for Hope after her vape capers. Nattering on a Corrie Facebook fan forum, one user reckoned: “They might do a storyline of her ending up in the hospital like some kids in real life do showing the dangers.”

Another chimed in, backing up the theory: “I can see this happening.” Meanwhile, a third added their two cents on the platform, writing: “That’s a good idea, it would definitely be
