Coronation Street fans are speculating Sarah Platt is set to embark on another romance – and the man at the center of the potential scandal is a bit too close for home

Coronation Street fans are convinced Sarah Platt (played by Tina O’Brien) is about to embark on a sordid affair that will leave her daughter Bethany (Lucy Fallon) devastated. During Friday’s trip to Weatherfield (August 23), Sarah was hauled into the police station for questioning by DS Swain (Victoria Myers).

As fans of the ITV soap will know, the copper is trying to figure out who is responsible for Lauren Bolton’s (Caitlin Fitton) attack after she was left for dead. Lauren has confirmed abusive Joel Deering (Callum Lill) is the father of her newborn baby boy but the villain has denied any wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) is still in prison after being charged with Lauren’s disappearance. During her police interview, Sarah denied planting Lauren’s DNA in Nathan’s van which provided evidence for his arrest.

After leaving the station, Sarah urged Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) to persuade her daughter Bethany to drop her campaign against Nathan.

Daniel then asked police officer Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) if the evidence against Nathan was planted as the detective warned him not to accuse anyone of wrongdoing. He then blamed Daniel’s girlfriend Bethany for meddling in the case.

Later, Daniel also told Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) that he doesn’t trust newcomer Kit and said he is sure that something doesn’t sit right about Nathan’s conviction.

However, despite the scandal surrounding Lauren’s case, eagle-eyed fans believe they’ve spotted sparks flying between Sarah and her daughter’s boyfriend Daniel.

Taking to Reddit, one Corrie fan predicted: “Sarah and Daniel. They have had at least 2 scenes together which means only one thing….affair! I’m calling it!”

A second replied: “Yeah definitely, they do a screen chemistry test and unfortunately Sarah seems to be hot with everyone!”

A third chimed in: “That’s what I was thinking”, while another added: “You put the idea out into the world, so now it’s going to happen!”

“I thought this yesterday too, they do look good together lol”, said another.
