Coronation Street spoilers for next week confirm Rowan Cunliffe is accused of targeting Toyah Battersby once more, leading to Nick Tilsley confronting the villain

Coronation Street’s Nick Tilsley takes firm action next week as he finally stands up to villain Rowan Cunliffe.

The character decides enough is enough amid ongoing drama with his partner Leanne Battersby. He steps in to defend sister-in-law Toyah Battersby amid their secret fling, and battle lines are drawn between him and scammer Rowan.

Rowan appears to cruelly target Toyah who is at the hospital after being told she had ovarian cancer in a recent episode. Viewers will be aware that Rowan targeted Leanne weeks ago to get her to join his organisation ‘the institute’.

The soap’s cult storyline has seen Rowan reel her in by using her trauma against her, and now he’s keen for her to invest. Despite warnings from her sister Toyah and husband Nick, Leanne can’t see that Rowan is using her and that his ‘self-improvement institute’ is all a scam.

It’s driven a wedge between the family, and Toyah’s hopes to bring Rowan down have led to her and Nick being blackmailed with Toyah forced to sign an NDA. But it seems this isn’t enough, with someone photographing Nick and Toyah again next week while Toyah attends a hospital appointment.

It’s not clear from the spoilers if it’s Rowan or not, but given he paid someone weeks ago to follow Toyah and get dirt on her, it’s safe to presume it could be him. Nick thinks so too, and it’s not long before he seeks out Rowan and confronts him.

Nick is attending Toayh’s appointments with her as Leanne is AWOL. But Toyah realises someone is following them, taking photos of them weeks on from their secret fling.

Nick takes action, and pictures show him having it out with an amused Rowan. How far will they go, and will Nick make matters worse as Rowan continues to blackmail them over their affair?

Toyah had been rushed to hospital in a recent episode after collapsing with stomach pains. Doctors initially said she was pregnant, but an ultrasound confirmed the result was false. They then confirmed that Toyah had ovarian cancer.
