Coronation Street star Jude Riordan has delighted fans with his friendship with a much-loved castmate. The actor took to social media to reveal he’d enjoyed an evening out with co-star Jane Hazlegrove.

The pair, who play Sam Blakeman and Bernie Winter in the ITV soap, headed to The Bridgwater Hall earlier this week where they watched Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Live In Concert.

It sees the film presented on a huge HD screen, accompanied by a range of musicians and instrumentalists performing music from the film’s score and soundtrack live to picture, including a full orchestra, a scratch DJ on turntables, percussion and electronic instruments.

Alongside a beaming picture of the pair, Jude wrote on Instagram: “BEST night with the best! Spider-Man Across The Spider Verse with a LIVE ORCHESTRA at the Bridgewater – EPIC with my G JHG @jane_hazlegrove. Unbelievable, immersive and intense [five star emojis] #spiderman #spiderverse #liveorchestra #thebridgewaterhall #manchester #latenight #upearlyforwork #milesmorale.”

Jane was quick to respond to the post, writing: “Ah was ace darlings! Thank you! See you tomorrow,” before Corrie fans shared their delight at seeing the pair together.

Since then, Jude’s mum has taken to her son’s Instagram account, which she manages, in a call for help from his fans and followers. She explained in a written message: “Hello. Jude’s mum here. I’m asking if anyone knows any great [North West] drama groups [not stage-related – he’s more into telly/ad-lib work that he used to do].

“Jude used to attend the @thetelevisionworkshop Salford group for years, and loved it! Sadly, they closed it last year and he’s missing getting his teeth into drama. We know he does drama for his job but always great to keep learning and expanding…”
