Coronation Street star Isabella Flanagan has shared a sweet message to her on-screen dad Alan Halsall as he celebrated his birthday. The actor, who is famed for playing Tyrone Dobbs, was celebrating his 42nd birthday on Sunday (August 11).

Long-time fans of the ITV soap may recall Alan first appearing on the cobbles 26 years ago, with his debut airing in November 1998. His first scenes saw him playing Kirby’s Dream Land when his assumed mother Jackie Dobbs came to stay with Deirdre Barlow, who had been her cellmate in Redford Prison.

Now, Tyrone co-owns Webster’s Autos alongside Kevin Webster and is married to Fiz following an on-and-off romance over two decades. The pair also share tow children, Hope and Ruby, with Tyrone’s family having since expanded with the arrival of grandmother Evelyn Plummer, real mum Cassie Plummer and now his secret son, Dorin.

But away from the cobbles, Alan had reason to celebrate as he marked his birthday and was flooded with messages from his castmates.

Bella, who plays on-screen daughter Hope, was among those sharing birthday wishes for the soap star publically as she took to Instagram with a string of snaps of the pair on set together over the years alongside the likes of Fiz actress Jennie McAlpine and Billie Naylor, who plays Ruby.

Alongside the post, the teen wrote: “Happy birthday @alanhalsall!!! Couldn’t ask for a better TV dad and I know I do your head in but I really do love you. Have a fab day!! xx #corrie #coronationstreet #tyronedobbs #hopedobbs #daddydaughter #love.”

And Alan was clearly overwhelmed as he replied: “I’m the lucky one,” before the birthday wishes came flooding in. @corrieluvsx said: “Happy birthday @alanhalsall!!” @shelleybabe50 commented: “Beautiful photos happy birthday to your TV dad.” @notts.chloe wrote: “This is adorable!” @jonathandaly34 added: “Awwww so sweet.”

Andy Whyment, who plays Weatherfield’s Kirk Sutherland, also shared a selfie of the pair to his Instagram Story and said: “Happy Birthday @alanhalsall. Enjoy your day bro.” On-screen mum Claire Sweeny, who plays Cassie Plummer, also shared a snap and said: “Happy birthday my darling boy @alanhalsall.”

Samia Longchambon, who is known for starring as Corrie’s Maria Windass, shared a photo of herself, Alan and Andy to her Instagram Story and said: “Happy birthday to the one ‘n’ only @alanhalsall. have a mega day… love ya!” to which Alan reshared the post and said: “Love this pic.
