Coronation Street’s Fiz star spotted in Emmerdale 25 years ago and looks exactly the same

Coronation Street’s Fiz Brown star has grown up on the cobbles but her career really began on its rival ITV soap Emmerdale.

Coronation Street fans have spotted the star behind Fiz Brown in an Emmerdale throwback from decades ago and she doesn’t look any different.

Fiz Brown (played by Jennie McAlpine) has been a staple in the longest-running drama since 2021 and has been through her fair share of trauma.

She is now currently struggling to cope with her husband Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) having a son with Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu), the woman he left her for in 2021.

But as Fiz tries to come to terms with the newest addition to the family, viewers have spotted a throwback where actress Jennie McAlpine starred in rival soap Emmerdale.

The Yorkshire-set series was the first onscreen role that the 40-year-old actress had, a year before she went on to star as Fiz in Coronation Street.

During her one-year stint in Emmerdale, McAlpine was behind a character called Michelle Morley for three episodes.

She was a school friend of troubled teen Ollie Reynolds (Vicky Binns) who coincidentally went on to play Tyrone’s first wife Mollie in Coronation Street.

In McAlpine’s first Emmerdale appearance, she is attending a camping trip with Ollie and the rest of their class, led by Ashley Thomas (John Middleton) and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles).

Michelle and Ollie were bickering as they put up their tents with the former irritated when she wasn’t then picked to be on her classmate’s team for the games.

Since leaving Emmerdale behind, McAlpine has only ever been in Coronation Street according to her IMDb profile.

Her character Fiz was absent for several months earlier this year when she was briefly relocated to Norfolk to head up another factory.

This was because McAlpine welcomed her daughter Doris, the third child she shares with husband Chris Farr after son Albert and daughter Hilda.
