The actress is currently earning the full support of viewers of the ITV soap as her character Dee-Dee Bailey attempts to bring her ex-fiancé Joel Deering, played by actor Calum Lill, to justice after finally discovering his true colours.

The truth about how dark and sinister Joel really is was revealed following Lauren Bolton’s return to Weatherfield. The teen had been missing without a trace since February before suddenly returning in July.

However, it had already been revealed in May, three months after Lauren, played by Cait Fitton, was last seen in Weatherfield, that it was Joel who was behind her disappearance – not Roy Cropper as DS Lisa Swain decided when she charged him with Lauren’s presumed murder.

A flashback clip showed Joel shockingly beating Lauren with a chair leg and Corrie fans were then left for months to ponder whether Lauren had survived the ordeal. It was eventually confirmed she did when she appeared by Roy’s bedside in the hospital after he suffered a heart attack.

However, as she tried to make an exit from the hospital, she was grabbed by Joel before the truth about what happened between the pair before the shock attack was uncovered. Flashback scenes helped viewers see how things unfolded between the pair and it was also revealed that Lauren was pregnant with his child.

He has since secretly housed Lauren in his flat as he moved in with his fiancé Dee-Dee ahead of their September wedding before, in another horrifying move, he triggered Lauren to prematurely give birth to their son after drugging her. And after some of her own sleuthing, Dee-Dee finally discovered the truth and teaming up with Lauren and DS Swain, has been hellbent on Joel getting his comeuppance.

But it seems like Corrie viewers will have a while to wait until Joel’s final downfall as actor Calum has been seen filming alongside Channique. Taking to Instagram, both confirmed they were participating in a night shoot.

Sharing a snap of the dark and damp location, Channique simply added a time stamp that confirmed it was 11.47pm on Monday night (September 2) and tagged her location as Coronation Street. Several hours later she returned with a snap from inside her car, confirming it was 6.04am on Tuesday (September 3), and wrote: “That’s a wrap.”
