Coronation Street star Channique Sterling-Brown left her character far behind her as she enjoyed a break away with her co-star. Fans of the ITV soap that Dee-Dee Bailey is currently all loved-up with fellow solicitor Joel Deering.

However, the character doesn’t have a clue what her future husband is really capable of, with it revealed to viewers in May that he was responsible for the disappearance of teen Lauren Bolton after attacking her.

With Lauren gone, Joel has been carrying on as normal and a wedding date of September 27 is set to be confirmed in upcoming scenes as he surprises Dee-Dee by booking their nuptials.

But while the truth starts to unravel on-screen, Channique has taken a break from playing the fabulous Dee-Dee and headed for Spain. Taking to Instagram, the soap star seemingly revealed she’d made the trip with Corrie co-star Tanisha Gorey after snapping a picture of her as they chilled by the pool.

Channique also took to her main Instagram page with a couple of snaps as she was captured having headed out to eat. She appeared to have opted for paella as one of the snaps showed her squeezing some lemon onto her freshly made dish while out in Palmanova, Mallorca.

Captioning the smiley, sun-soaked snaps, Channique wrote: “Girl gotta eat,” with a lemon emoji. Joel co-star Calum Lill was among the first to comment, writing: “You look like someone behind you just shouted, ‘there’s Dee Dee oft’ telly’. Hope you’re both slaying in the sun.”

Responding to her on-screen partner, Channique laughed: “Who’s Deedee, never heard of her. Hehe thanks friend promise to come back to work with an attitude as sunny as the weather.”
