The Joel Deering actor shared a number of photos from the famous ITV soap set
Coronation Street star Calum Lill has been issued a demand by fans after sharing a string of unseen pictures from the cobbles. Fans have been shouting at their TVs ever since it was revealed that his character Joel Deering is a wrong’un.
But the truth about how dark and sinister the solicitor is was finally revealed following Lauren Bolton’s return. As viewers know, the teen went missing without a trace back in February.
It was revealed in May, three months after Lauren was last seen in Weatherfield, that it was Joel who was behind her disappearance – not Roy Cropper as DS Lisa Swain decided when she charged him with Lauren’s presumed murder after it was revealed he was the last person to see her alive, despite viewers knowing she also had a mystery visitor who showed up at her door.
But it wasn’t until earlier this month that Corrie fans were shown what really happened between Lauren and Joel in the lead-up to his shocking attack when Lauren returned to visit a sick Roy Cropper in the hospital.
It was as she tried to make an exit undetected that she was grabbed by Joel who covered her mouth to stop her screams and dragged her into a family room where they had an intense confrontation which featured flashback clips showing the truth before Lauren revealed she is pregnant.
But there was one person Calum, who joined the ITV soap last year as Joel, was worried about watching the scenes unfold and that was his grandmother after he went viral for sharing her reaction to the first clues about solicitor Joel’s dark side.
Before the scenes were aired, Calum told the Manchester Evening News and other press of his grandmother: ” He said: “I think I’m going to ask her not to watch it because I’m not quite sure I want any of my family to see that.” He then joked: “Or my now fiancée actually, there might be a cancellation.”
Instead of filming her reaction this time, Calum appears to have taken his beloved grandmother to the cobbles as the soap often hosts the family and friends of its cast and crew.
Sharing pictures of the pair, including outside Weatherfield Police Station, he wrote on Instagram: “Bring your family to work day! So nice that Corrie do this #corrie #coronationstreet.”
And the post, which also included snaps of Calum and his fiancee Toberta Mcclarron, was quickly flooded with the same demand. @suzywoo2207 said: “Get your Nan a part in Corrie.” @charnleyhope wrote: “Love your nan! She needs a part.”
@corrieluvsx commented: “Calum ur nan needs a part on Corrie!!” @elizabethbamber replied: “Calum your Nan needs a part on Corrie.” @notts.chloe added: “Your nan needs to be on Corrie.”
