Coronation Street star Tony Maudsley had an interesting offer for his castmate after her planned return to the UK was thwarted. Sally Carman-Duttine has recently been seen enjoying a sun-soaked break with her co-star husband Joe Duttine.

The couple swapped the cobbles for Ibiza taking time away from the soap to spend time in Ibiza. Sally and Joe met on the cobbles six years ago.

They then tied the knot in July 2022 with the pair saying ‘I Do’ two years after getting engaged. Sally confirmed the happy news with an image posted to her Instagram account which she captioned: “We did.” The snap showed the newlyweds sharing a kiss, both with a glass of fizz in hand, standing under a stunning balloon arch.

And following their recent break together, Sally, who is known for playing Abi Webster in the ITV soap, shared a glimpse of the trip with Tim Metcalfe actor Joe with her 153,000 followers on Instagram.

In the post, the actress shared a collection of images taken on different parts of the island. She could be seen showing off a lovely striped dress and also smiled for a selfie with the sun shining behind her. Another picture also showed Sally with her husband Joe as they both beamed at the camera.

Sally Dynevor, who plays Joe’s on-screen wife Sally, said: “Wow, beautiful”, while Claire Sweeney, who plays Cassie Plummer, shared a string of red heart emojis. Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha Alahan, commented: “Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous,” DS Swain actress Vicky Myers wrote: “Goddess!”, and Simon Gregson who plays Steve McDonald added: “Sandals”.

But Sally’s trip was unexpectedly extended. She returned to Instagram with more snaps from the trip, in which she looked fabulous in her various holiday outfits, including a red and white kaftan which she sported with a black sun hat, and explained her predicament.

The former Shameless star admitted: “Missed the plane ( not great ) extra bonus night at @latorredelcanonigo (pretty awesome) #ibiza #longerweekend #ooops.” But Tony Maudsley was quick to offer a solution when it came to filling in for her at work. The George Shuttleworth replied: “I’ll put a wig on and do all your lines till you get back.”

And fans were on board as they flooded the comment with crying laughing emojis. @elsiehodgson6767 said: “Now that I’d like to see.” @kimbednall replied: “Real friend.” @anne_r_saunders added: “Do you think Kev would notice.”
