Coronation Street star Liam McCheyne once shared his Dylan Wilson role with another actor – his twin brother Connor McCheyne, and they’re identical!
Actor Liam, 17, – who plays troubled teen Dylan Wilson in the soap – first arrived on the cobbles in 2011. At the time, the part was shared with Connor due to their young age.
This is commonplace in TV due to laws surrounding the amount of time children can spent on set.
When the character was brought back to Weatherfield in 2022, Liam reprised the role although Connor now focusses his time on becoming a cricketer.
The resemblance between the brothers is astonishing, something which has clearly surprised fans of the show who expressed their surprise on a Coronation Street Facebook group.
‘I had no idea Liam was a twin’ said one, whilst another exclaimed: ‘Wait, what?!’
Another fan commented: ‘Never knew they were twins!’
‘I didn’t know either just read up on it’ replied someone else.
Earlier this year, Dylan was embroiled in an intense bullying storyline which saw him being exploited by the sinister and thuggish Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan).
Viewers watched in horror over Liam’s conflicted feelings as he’s been forced to pick on younger neighbour Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) – who was almost driven to taking his own life in an effort to free himself of the bullying.
