Joel’s villainous behaviour has been exposed to his ex Dee-Dee, with the her now working to secure justice against him – but will he be killed?
After months of hiding his true colours, Joel Deering’s violent tendencies towards Lauren Bolton were exposed, shocking his now ex-partner Dee-Dee who seeks retribution. Coronation Street fans are speculating that Joel could be the next character to meet a grim fate in a gripping ‘whodunnit’ storyline.
The sinister solicitor Joel, portrayed by actor Calum Lill, faced police scrutiny for his vicious assault on Lauren (played by Cait Fitton), with Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) confronting the harrowing reality during a tearful flashback sequence.
Dee-Dee and DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) have since teamed up to unearth further proof of Joels abusive past, even scrutinising his former workplace.
Joel has issued threats to Lauren while she’s in hospital, flaunting his plan to fight for custody of their son Frankie.
“You’re only doing this to punish Lauren, you’ve got no interest in Frankie,” Dee-Dee accuses, to which Joel counters: “You’re wrong, I love my son and I want to make sure he’s safe.”
Joel has spun a narrative accusing Lauren of intentionally taking medication to terminate her pregnancy with their son Frankie, however, it was Joel himself who committed the nefarious act, aiming to cause the loss of the baby. Miraculously, little Frankie has pulled through and seems to be thriving, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Even as Lauren begs Dee-Dee to back away, she reports Joel’s menacing behaviour to Swain, resolved to track down more individuals shattered by his abuse.
Lauren is petrified as Joel’s dreadful antics escalate, yet it seems Dee-Dee and DS Swain aren’t intimidated by the thug.
As the women confront Joel, some Corrie enthusiasts on social media speculate that one of them might kill Joel in a gripping murder mystery twist.
A Corrie fan speculated on Reddit: “I’ve got a feeling that there is going to be a whodunit storyline and Joel will be killed off. I’m not sure why but with everyone threatening him and hinting that he will get what’s coming to him, I feel like they are planning up for that storyline. Maybe I’m wrong and I hope I am but that’s my gut feeling.”
Another shared their thoughts: “I’ve had a theory for a while now that the past few months the show has been building up to a big storyline where 3 female characters (Dee Dee, Abby and Leanne) are going to murder Joel, Stefan and Rowan.”
