Coronation Street fans have been left scratching their heads as they question the whereabouts of one major character who ‘disappeared’ from the cobbles ‘without a trace’

Coronation Street fans have been left scratching their heads as they claim one character has ‘disappeared’ from the show without a mention. The long running ITV soap has provided viewers with tons of dramatic storylines this year, including Paul’s tragic MND battle.

Fans have also been introduced to new characters, including Bobby Crawford, the nephew of Carla Connor, and the son of her brother, Rob Donovan. The character, played by comedian Jack Carroll has been involved in storylines including Lauren Bolton’s disappearance, although fans are now questioning his whereabouts. Bobby tried to free an innocent Roy Cropper from prison by trying to frame Daniel Osbourne.

Of course, viewers are now aware that it was villain Joel Deering who was behind the plot, as Bobby admitted that he had lied to the police about seeing Daniel leave the flat.

Despite his involvement in these heavy hitting storylines, fans of the cobbles have now taken to Reddit to question where he’s gotten to, with some claiming it’s ‘like he doesn’t exist’ anymore: “Remember when Bobby was super involved with Lauren? Or that he lives with Carla? It’s like he doesn’t exist anymore now,” wrote one, as another penned: “I’m still baffled why Bobby had to be created.”

“Didn’t he move out of Carla’s or am I imagining that?” questioned one viewer who had forgotten about his storyline, as another responded: “He didn’t. He was going to leave, but noticed that Ken had ‘had a fall’ so he became the hero again and stayed. Ryan did mention about him sleeping on the sofa at Carla’s. He’s only on the sofa because Bobby took his room.”

Others came up with their own theories, writing: “My theory is that since Corrie is filmed weeks, sometimes months in advance, around the time he made his debut and the negative reaction to it, would have been around the time they’re filming the episodes that were being shown around his disappearance. So they’ve basically dropped him due to the negative response of the character,” however, others disagreed.

Although Bobby may not be around, Carla is set to receive some devastating news as Ryan Connor calls at the factory with an official looking letter. As she reads it, her face falls, leafing to Ryan concerned and confining in DS Swain that Carla is stressed about her upcoming plea hearing.

Earlier this year, Carla found herself in hot water when she was involved in a hit and run, witnessed by DS Swain’s daughter Betsy who used her knowledge to blackmail Carla into giving her a permanent position at the factory.
