Coronation Street fans have admitted they “don’t trust” Lauren Bolton following a major giveaway clue on the ITV soap

Coronation Street has appeared to confirm that Lauren Bolton is hiding another huge secret – following a giveaway ‘clue’ on the ITV soap.

The youngster (Cait Fitton) returned to the cobbles recently after months of being missing. It was revealed that sicko solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) was behind her disappearance. And this week, Joel was finally exposed for his horrific crimes. Joel wormed his way into Lauren’s life last year after helping her out with bills, eventually coercing her into a sexual relationship.

He then left her for dead after bashing her head in, following a heated argument where Lauren mentioned fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey’s (Channique Sterling-Brown) name.

Meanwhile, thanks to copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), Joel was able to remain undetected due to Kit planting Lauren’s DNA in Nathan Curtis’ (Christopher Harper) van: framing him for the disappearance of Lauren.

Fans will recall Nathan groomed and abused Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) a few years ago – with Bethany adamant that he was behind Lauren’s disappearance too. However, when Lauren made her return, she revealed to Joel she was pregnant with his baby.

Spinning a web of lies, Joel forced Lauren to lie and say it was Nathan who was the one who abused her, not him. Joel then tried to kill her, drugging her in a desperate attempt to kill the baby. His sickening plan didn’t work though, as she went into labour early and the baby survived.

And despite Joel thinking he had got away with his crimes, this week – the truth came out. But in a shocking twist, Joel got to the police first, lying that Lauren had taken illegal abortion pills to try and get rid of the baby.

However, while Lauren and Dee-Dee have since teamed up to take Joel down, viewers are certain that Lauren is hiding a secret – after a rather telling clue. In Wednesday’s episode (August 21) Bethany cornered Lauren at the hospital, fuming that Lauren had now changed her story that it was Joel behind her disappearance, not Nathan.

Lauren insisted that she didn’t know Nathan, and as Bethany told her: “I think you know a lot more than you’re letting on,” to which Lauren looked sheepishly away. Now, viewers have clocked her suspicious look and are certain a “shifty” Lauren is hiding something – with “more shocking secrets to come out still.”

On a Coronation Street Facebook fan page, one person said: “Still not fully trusting Lauren she’s hiding something. I’m sure of it.” Someone else replied: “I actually thought exactly the same thing tonight she looked very shifty. But she’s told so many lies it’s hard to believe anything she says really.”

A third chimed in: “Going by the look on her face as Bethany, or was it Daniel, walked away, I think you are so right there, seems there’s more shocking secrets to come out still.” Another person penned: “Def still something to come,” as a fifth wrote: “Yes and shifty when asked about Nathan.” (sic)
