BBC EastEnders viewers ‘rumble’ Phil Mitchell’s ‘downfall’ in killer twist

Amid Reiss’ plans to scam Phil out of £13,000, the local gangster has realised the accountant is not going to pay his money back and issued a warning – but fans are predicting a twist.

EastEnders fans are convinced Reiss Colwell is going to take Phil Mitchell down following their latest spat.

During Thursday’s trip to Walford, there was a tense confrontation between the terrified accountant and the local gangster. The drama unfolded when Phil overheard Suki and Eve as they chat about the engagement ring Eve bought from Reiss.

The newly engaged couple were sitting in The Queen Vic when they confirmed they were now down a ring and the £2000 they’d paid for it, leaving Phil suspicious.

Losing his temper, Phil summoned Reiss to the boxing gym and confronted him over the £13,000 he stole. “I’m beginning to wonder if you ain’t stupid enough to try to steal my money,” Phil told a terrified Reiss.

As the pressure got too much for Reiss, he confessed that the money he gave Phil was indeed the proceeds of selling his late wife’s engagement ring to Suki and Eve.

Phil continued to demand his money back as Reiss confirmed he didn’t have it.

“If you haven’t got my money,” he told Reiss, “I’m going to hurt you. I’m going to hurt you bad.”

Reiss tried to manipulate Phil’s softer side by telling him that Sonia is pregnant and that he’d been stressed over Debbie’s death.

He also told the gangster about the big payout from Debbie’s life insurance, and that he’ll give Phil what he owes when the cash comes through.

Phil told Reiss he has until Monday to give him his money back. But as Phil walked away, Reiss looked deep in thought.

Some fans of the BBC soap now think Reiss is going to violently turn on Phil following the murder of his wife Debbie.

Taking to X, one viewer wrote: “I reckon Reiss is a secret gangster. There’s no way you can hide all that money. Especially from Phil.”

A second added: “Phil’s not menacing. Please just hit him Reiss. # EastEnders.” (sic)

A third predicted: “Reiss wishes he had a baseball bat #EastEndersIt’s all so predictable what’s going to happen to Reiss or is it? Could there be a twist coming up? Can’t wait to see what happens between him and Phil.” (sic)
