EastEnders was full of dramatic scenes on Thursday night as Cindy Beale appeared to start an affair with Junior Knight but fans think there’s another romance on the cards

EastEnders viewers think they’ve spotted a new romance as Cindy Beale appeared to start an affair with Junior Knight on Thursday’s episode.

Earlier this week, Cindy was left concerned by on-off partner Ian Beale’s suspicious and mysterious behaviour, worrying he was having an affair. After tracking his location, Cindy was shocked to find Ian meeting with ex-wife Jane Beale as the iconic character returned after seven years. Following the shock bombshell of Jane’s return, Cindy and Ian reconciled back in Albert Square, where they appeared smitten.

However, Cindy was soon distracted as she spotted her son Peter Beale’s partner Lauren Branning appearing to flirt and bond with Junior. Cindy was left jealous over their exchange following her own past fling with Junior, whose father is her ex-husband George Knight. During the latest episode, Cindy even headed to Junior’s apartment to warn him off Lauren. Things went from bad to worse for Cindy when ex George and new partner Elaine Peacock handed out wedding save the dates at the pub, reminding Cindy of what she had lost.

Later, Ian decided to throw a family meal, where Peter used the opportunity to prove his love for Lauren as he surprised her. This left Cindy, who was still thinking about Junior, questioning her own relationship with Ian as he surprised her by revealing he had synced their calendars so they could keep tabs on each other. Feeling overwhelmed, Cindy made her excuses and headed out of the meal to secretly meet Junior, where she revealed she wanted to “escape” as they appeared to start their affair by driving off together.

Taking to social media, viewers think that Junior will also embark in an affair with Lauren, which would cause even more chaos for the family. One person said: “I reckon Junior will end up sleeping with Lauren”, a different account claimed: “Apparently I saw there is gonna be a love triangle (think I spelt it right) between the three”, another put: “He will get Lauren pregnant” to which a different viewer replied: “That’s my theory too and Lauren won’t know who the dad is.”
