EastEnders fans are convinced they have worked out who Kathy Beale’s new love interest is on the BBC One soap

EastEnders enthusiasts believe they’ve figured out Kathy Beale’s next romantic partner, and it spells trouble for another female resident.

Kathy, portrayed by Gillian Taylforth, has been a mainstay on the soap since her debut in 1985. As one of the original characters who appeared in the first episode, she has been part of numerous significant storylines over the years.

From her tumultuous relationship with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to her dramatic return to Walford in 2015 after being presumed dead in a car accident, her narratives have kept BBC soap viewers gripped.

Recently, the plot has taken a dramatic turn for the cafe owner. In addition to her son Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) being incarcerated in the US, Kathy played a significant role in Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) Christmas murder.

Kathy, along with five other women from Walford, concealed the murder – committed by Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) – and subsequently framed Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), reports the Daily Star.

However, fans believe they’ve deduced her next love interest on the BBC One soap. After Tuesday’s episode (September 24), viewers are convinced that she will start a relationship with Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman), who is currently involved with Jean Slater (Gillian Wright).

Viewers are well aware that things have been tense between Harvey and Jean recently, particularly after his dishonesty regarding the help he offered Maya Houssain (Bharti Patel), which included working extra hours to provide her with financial aid.

Consequently, Jean put an end to their relationship, yet recent episodes suggest she might be considering a reunion with Harvey. On Tuesday’s episode, which aired on September 24, Harvey and Kathy shared a touching moment at the Queen Vic that didn’t go unnoticed by fans. They sensed a certain “chemistry” between the pair.
