We had high hopes when Days of Our Lives’ Brady and Fiona started hooking up. OK, maybe not “high” hopes so much as some hope. Because right from the start, their relationship revolved around drinking heavily with each other. And for two addicts, that’s incredibly bad. But still, we thought that maybe they could also lean on each other to pull themselves up, recover, and build some semblance of a healthy fling together.

But then their drinking went from out of control to downright dangerous and Fiona showed her true colors by framing Brady for Sarah’s hit-and-run. So these days, we’re actually pretty darn eager to see their budding relationship end! But just as we thought Brady was headed for heartache once again, the show pulled out a surprise move that has us convinced he’s instead heading towards a reconciliation. Though not everyone is going to be excited about who it’s with!

You see, Kristen fully believes that Brady hit Sarah after a drunken night — enough that she was willing to steal his car to hide the evidence from the cops. She framed it as being for Rachel’s sake so their daughter wouldn’t have to watch Daddy hauled off to prison, but it was still an act of kindness. Twisted and misguided, yes, but kind, nonetheless!

And that may be all the opening the two need to rekindle their on again/off again relationship.

Kristen’s schemed, plotted and threatened to get Brady back no matter how much it infuriated him. Naturally, instead of winning his love, it just drove him farther away. But these days, she seems to have finally given up on reuniting them as she focuses on running DiMera. And our guess is that that means Brady’s about ready for a reunion any minute now!

After all, that’s kind of his M.O. It’s pretty much what happened with Theresa. While she was actively pursuing him, Brady wasn’t interested. But once she made a commitment to Alex, he couldn’t get her out of her head. That’s why her duplicitousness and arrest hit Brady so hard he started drinking with Fiona, which got him into this mess to begin with.

Now, we’re not saying Brady should end up with Kristen. Some folks love them and some hate them. And while they’re definitely entertaining together, they are far from healthy for each other. But as Brady tries to sort out what happened, we could see Kristen staying by his side through it all and using her family resources to fight to keep him out of prison — for Rachel’s sake, of course.

Because if anyone understands what it’s like to do something horrible, land in prison and be pulled away from their daughter, it’s her! Granted, in Kristen’s case, the horrible things are usually intentional, but we could still see her empathizing with her ex.
