The Rookie star Nathan Fillion teased that there is still life for The Rookie: Feds characters

The end might not be the end. During The Rookie panel at San Diego Comic-Con, The Rookie star Nathan Fillion teased that there is still life for The Rookie: Feds characters. But what does that mean for fans of the spinoff and are The Rookie: Feds characters coming back in The Rookie Season 7?

Are The Rookie: Feds Characters Coming Back in The Rookie Season 7?
“The short answer is yes,” Fillion responded to a question about whether the characters from The Rookie: Feds would ever be seen again. “We are trying to create a universe in which we can all exist.” So, though he didn’t promise when or say exactly who we would be saying, that’s a pretty positive answer.

Fillion didn’t stop there, he went on to add that the show has never been just about him. “The title and the idea that it was my show was always just a trick. It’s always been an ensemble cast. I’m so very pleased to be able to say this program can, at any one time, rest squarely on the shoulders of any one member of this cast.”

But who from The Rookie: Feds cast would be the best fit for The: Rookie? The obvious answer would be Niecey Nash-Betts’ Simone Clark, the titular rookie on The Rookie: Feds. Perhaps the expansion of the universe teased by Fillion could see more collaborations between the police and the FBI, which would bring Simone Clark in to help the team.

However, just as Simone could come in to assist with a joint investigation, so could James Lesure’s Carter Hope or Britt Robertson’s Laura Stensen, who are both special agents assigned to SSA Garza’s Special Investigative Unit. And, if there is a big enough case, the show could even bring in Felix Solis as Matt Garza, the boss himself, the team leader of the Special Investigative Unit with the Los Angeles Field Office.

Smart money is still on the show bringing in Simone Clark first, but there’s a chance we could see everyone on The Rookie: Feds again. Even, why not, Kevin Zegers’ Brendon Acres, the other rookie alongside Simone Clark. If Fillion is to be believed, then anything is possible.

The Rookie is coming back for Season 7, but not this Fall. Instead, the show will return midseason, in January. No exact date has yet been set.
