Alexandra Breckenridge, best known for Virgin River, also played a major role in another massively popular drama, and she recently had a sweet reunion with some co-stars.

Virgin River star Alexandra Breckenridge sent fans into a frenzy this week by reuniting with some of her old co-stars.

Best known for portraying Mel Monroe in five seasons of the hit Netflix series, she also played a key role in all six seasons of the NBC drama This Is Us.

Her character Sophie Inman, the wife of Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley), was a recurring character in the first season before being promoted to the main cast for season two.

She then returned in several episodes as a guest star during the remaining six seasons, after Alexandra landed the lead role of Mel in Virgin River.

This week, she swung by the That Was Us recap podcast to reminisce about her time on the show with her co-stars and podcast hosts Mandy Moore, Sterling K Brown and Chris Sullivan.

A new post on Instagram teased: “We’ve got a new episode of #ThatWasUs ready for you!!

“Join us as we recap, “Jack Pearson’s Son”, and discuss the return of Sophie with none other than @alexandrabreck!!

“And as we dig in, we have just one question for you: What would Jack do?”

Fans of both shows were thrilled to see Alexandra reconnect with the show that made her a household name before she moved to Virgin River back in 2019.

“Sophie!!! Omg I can’t wait to watch this one,” one fan replied.

Another gushed: “Omg you got Alex too, so happyyyy, Sophie was such a lovely sweet character and I’m so happy she got her happy ending with Kev.”

“Alexandra Breckenridge is the best!” a third exclaimed.

Alexandra is set to return for more small-town drama with Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan in the sixth season of the popular Netflix series.

It will pick up after a devastating forest fire nearly destroyed Virgin River and Mel suffered a traumatic miscarriage, ultimately leading to her tough decision to stop trying to have children.

However, her family still grew in the holiday episodes after discovering her biological father, Everett Reid (John Allen Nelson), had been living just up the road all this time.
