He’s been in a coma for several weeks now, after being attacked by Crazy Connie Viniski (Julie Dove).

A picture can be worth a thousand words, and in the latest edition of Soap Opera Digest a photo just might give us the answers! Rafe is awake, he’s sitting straight up, but he has a very suspicious look on his face as if he’s not trusting the people in front of him.

In fact, he doesn’t even look like he recognizes his fiancée Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) or his sister Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jiminez) who have very worried looks on their faces.

One would think that Jada and Gabi would be thrilled to see Rafe sitting straight up and awake, but instead they look with worry and concern.

Might that be because Jada’s fiancé and Gabi’s big brother doesn’t recognize them, and in fact, he’s suspicious of them?

Some coma patients wake up with personality changes as well, and that can cause great distress to their families and close friends. Rafe looks angry and suspicious as if he wants to know who his visitors are, and what are they doing there, and why?

Upcoming spoilers tease that Mayor Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) will come in and ORDER Rafe to wake up-as if THAT’S going to help if he can’t hear her! However, he is shown awake and he is definitely alert, even if he doesn’t know who either he or anyone else is at the time.

There isn’t a lot of confusion in his facial expression, however, it’s more suspicion and anger than anything else.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Rafe’s Awakening Is Likely Kept Top Secret

Rafe’s awakening is likely kept top secret from all but close family and friends-after all, they don’t know that his attacker may not come back and finish it!

However, Connie is busy keeping Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) under control, and seems more interested in killing Gabi, since goes to her desk with a knife held behind her back!

If Rafe were in his right mind and knew what was going on, he’d be looking for his attacker himself, and he’d be back in the thick of the police action.

Rafe may have a personality change that makes him angry and suspicious all the time, although the suspicions could just be his cop instincts coming back.

Until he fully is himself, Jada will have to continue doing the hard work of finding his attacker and Li Shin’s (Remington Hoffman) real killer; and she’s real close!
