Some residents of NYC may have even spotted the actress out with her pup on various outings, she used a stroller for the little guy as can be seen in a lot of her Instagram pictures. You can tell that he was well-loved and cared for.

On the day of his passing, McClain wrote, “Mr. Peanut has gone to meet his maker. Those of you who know me well know how close me and this little man were. We were bonded right at the heart bone, loyal to one another through thick and thin.”

Every dog owner knows this bond quite well. The actress stated that she was proud to have ensured that Mr. Peanut lived a good life and even towards the end had very little suffering. “I made a promise to Mr. Peanut when he was a tiny, six week-old pup that he would never suffer.

That his life would be full of joy and that he would always know that he was loved. And I’m proud to have made good on that promise.

Anyone who tried to hurt this dog met my wrath and I’m not sorry one bit. It was my honor and privilege to love this guy. I think he felt the same about me.” We’re sure of it too, animals feel love on a profound level, as every pet owner knows.

Cady was there for him until the very end, stating a few days before his passing over on IG, “Yesterday was a very beautiful day in NYC, I don’t know how many more of these he will have (do any of us?) but darn if they won’t be full of all the love he has given me.” Somewhere, we know Mr. Peanut is putting in a good word for her.

McClain went on to say that she believes that her little guy’s spirit lives on, “I am so grateful that I still feel him with me. It is a kind of energetic proof to me that there is life beyond the body. Even for dogs. We do not become ‘nothing’. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.”

No matter what your beliefs, it is a beautiful and comforting sentiment, especially to those who have lost pets. It’s nice to imagine that they are happy and healthy again in the great beyond, just waiting for us to join them later, happily playing.
