Rowan’s mischievous intentions could be rumbled in upcoming Coronation Street scenes as Leanne Battersby is set to make a huge discovery as she sets out to help Amy Barlow

Though she has been under his grasp for months, Leanne Battersby is set to make a huge discovery about Rowan Cunliffe as the villain’s downfall looms.

Actress Jane Danson, who has portrayed the Weatherfield stalwart in the ITV soap since 1997, has been embroiled in a hard-hitting storyline as her alter-ego, Leanne, became enthralled with Rowan’s self-help group, completely unaware of the fact she was part of a cult.

But as Rowan (portrayed by Emrhys Cooper) has taken aim at Coronation Street tee Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), Leanne decides to take action while a fan theory has suggested her treacherous mother Tracy Barlow could avenge her.

Coming up next week, Leanne flies to Amy’s rescue, after she is scammed out of a staggering inheritance by Rowan, as she reveals that she emailed herself a batch of files from the cult leader’s computer – but will she have the solution to getting Amy’s money back?

However, she isn’t the only one who will be jumping in to bring Rowan down. While their relationship could still be in jeopardy next week, due to his connection to Leanne’s sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor), Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) will also decide to strike back against shady Rowan.

Next week, Nick informs Toyah Battersby that he is going to report Rowan to the police for blackmailing him over their affair and heads to the police station to meet with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers), handing her a notebook with all the recorded details. In later scenes, Nick calls at the flat, ready to share an update on his findings about Rowan – but could he bring more bad news?

This comes after a theory has suggested Tracy Barlow may be the one to trigger Rowan’s downfall as viewers of the Manchester-based programme have never forgotten her murderous past, and her fatal assault of former boyfriend Charlie Stubbs.

The Weatherfield legend played by Kate Ford recently came back to the cobbles after leaving Coronation Street to start afresh in Spain with her new beau Tommy Orpington and with Amy being scammed by Rowan, she may have every reason to get involved in a plot to take him down as Reddit users pointed out.
