Multiple discoveries left Leanne Battersby speechless this Wednesday, prompting her to finally decide to turn her back on Rowan – but Amy Barlow faces immense prison trouble.

Leanne Battersby has decided to take action against Rowan Cunliffe this Wednesday, while Amy Barlow’s deepest and darkest secret could land her in prison.

The Coronation Street teen portrayed by Elle Mulvaney fell for Rowan’s (Emrhys Cooper) manipulation tactics, opening up to him about spiking date rapist Dan in late, 2023. An ordeal she was supported through by Aadi Alahan and opened up about during a chat with the Institute leader.

But while she thought Dan was part of the past, Amy was horrified to discover Rowan had recorded their conversation in a bid to blackmail her, hinting she could be sent to prison.

Meanwhile, Leanne (Jane Danson) finally discovered that Rowan was blackmailing everyone around him, including Nick and Toyah as she found out they were having an affair in scenes aired this Wednesday (September 4).

Elsewhere, Amy updated her parents Steve McDonald and Tracy Barlow (Simon Gregson and Kate Ford), telling them about Rowan’s tricks and leaving them worried she could go to prison again, after her rape ordeal led her to lash out and get arrested a first time.

While Leanne’s discovery led to a showdown between her, her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor) and Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) in the Bistro, the restaurateur grew determined to take Rowan down as she rushed to No.1 to suggest a solution to Amy, after confronting the cult leader about his actions.

Though Leanne suggested a plan to take Rowan down, Amy made it clear she was also keen to get her inheritance money back, which was enough to spark some minor tension between them. Over on social media, however, many X users have recently pointed out that Leanne was finally rebelling against Rowan.
