Coronation Street fans have said they are ‘ready’ for what’s to come after a new trailer revealed time is running our for many residents in Weatherfield.

The ITV soap released a new promo, teasing what is to come on the cobbles this September, with Joel Deering’s downfall continuing to be in the hands of two of the street’s female powerhouses while Paul Foreman’s tragic death nears ever closer.

Starting with Dee-Dee Bailey and DS Lisa Swain, they together try and take Joel Deering down for his attack and abuse of Lauren Bolton, which resulted in her giving birth to their son Frankie. But it looks like Joel has other ideas as he plots to escape his crimes.

Meanwhile, Paul Foreman is all too aware there’s no escape for him as his devastating battle with Motor Neurone Disease continues. And knowing Paul’s life is coming to an upsetting end, his husband Billy Mayhew is desperate to make every second count as he holds onto his love for Paul.

But when Paul is rushed to the hospital, whilst being cared for by Bernie Winter and Summer Spellman, the race is on to get Billy to his bedside to say his final goodbye. Will he make it in time?

Elsewhere Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) tangled love life is a secret living on borrowed time as he fights to keep his affair with Leanne Battersby’s sister Toyah Habeeb hidden from his fiance. Knowing their indiscretion will blow their family apart, can Nick continue to keep a lid on this ticking time bomb?

Well, it appears something doesn’t go to plan as the trailer does show Leanne slapping Toyah, with the moment quickly catching the attention of Corrie fans.
