ITV Coronation Street spoilers for next week: Amy in danger, Joel exposed and Kit rumbled

Coronation Street will see two characters exposed next week – with an unlikely person seemingly being the one to expose evil villain Joel Deering for what he really is

Two characters could be exposed on Coronation Street next week – for very different reasons.

Joel Deering has so far managed to worm his way out of things, despite viewers – and now some of the residents – knowing he is responsible for the attack on Lauren Bolton and grooming multiple young vulnerable women. However, it looks like he could be in trouble next week when Dee-Dee finds out that Joel used to work with a firm that helps vulnerable people. Will she find out more about what he’s been up to – or will he manage to avoid justice again?

However, later in the week, Carla heads to the Chariot Square Hotel to meet with a supplier. When she sees Joel walk in, she bides her time and heads over to his table, where she tells everyone he tried to murder Lauren. How will he react?

Elsewhere, Kit could be exposed for his part in framing Nathan for Lauren’s disappearance. When she heads to the station, DS Swain quizzes Kit about the evidence that was planted on Nathan, how will he react?

Amy also finds herself in danger next week. She was planning to sue the Institute but Leanne has been desperately trying to get Amy to reconsider. However, things turn even worse for Amy when she gets a voice message from an unknown number.

She is left terrified and dashes out, whilst Leanne continues to support Rowan. When she’s left alone, she checks his laptop and is puzzled to find a file named Leanne and another one named after her sister Toyah and husband Nick, what will she find?

Joel actor Calum Lill was warned things would get “very dark” for his character when he auditioned for the show.

“From the email for the screen test they were like ‘you just need to be aware it’s going to get very dark’ so I had one script which was him being nice and charming and one that was him being not so much, so when I finally got the call saying I got it I thought I’ve got a big undertaking now,” he said, “It’s incredible to play a baddie on a soap but I didn’t just want to play some moustache-twirling villain. It is a serious topic so it was important to me
