Their issue-based storyline continues.
Tommy Moon has taken serious action against mum Kat in EastEnders.
It was announced earlier this week the EastEnders writers would be creating a long-term, issue-based storyline where Tommy physically abuses his mother.
Viewers have seen Tommy acting out in recent weeks, as he’s felt abandoned following Kat’s marriage breakdown with Phil Mitchell.
This week’s episodes have already featured shocking scenes where Tommy reacted violently during a row with Kat by punching her in the stomach. Kat fought back and pushed Tommy to the floor before her son warned her she’d regret it.
In Wednesday’s (July 24) episode, Kat was still reeling over her son’s abusive actions but chose not to tell anyone because the family were going on holiday.
Kat tried to make Tommy understand the severity of what he’d done but was shocked when her son refused to apologise.
“You punched your own mother in the stomach,” Kat reminded him. “I’ve got the bruises to prove it.”
Tommy defiantly announced he wasn’t going on the holiday with his family, and while Kat threatened to tell Alfie what he’d done, she ultimately decided to keep the abuse a secret.
In an alarming final scene, viewers saw Tommy placing a call to the police to make a formal complaint against his mother.
“I’m Tommy Moon, I’m 13 years old. My mum’s been hitting me,” he told the police officer.
Will Kat reveal her son’s abusive outburst?
